Well to be a good journalist one has to be obecjtive and one also has to learn to not include his/her perosnal opionion about the particular situation being reported . Also one needs to report the truth and not what the people want to hear and one must also refrain from contorting stories or altering them. Also depending on the type of journalist eg print journalist lanaguage is very important and for broadcast journalism in addition to language, articulaton and intonation are very important. Hope this helps.

A journalist needs to be able to know, and see what the people want to know about the story they are covering. They need to listen for details and get the indepth reports so that they can keep readers hooked and better informed. Grammer and AP style is just a small part of it, but knowing all that will help you become a "good journalist". If you get the facts that the people have a right to know, you have done your job.

you are talking about a travel journalist...so you mean to get your international visa? then travel around the world reporting news and writing it. and when you have a lap top you can store your work and e mail it for publication the next day...depending on which country you live and are from. do you work for a news company at the moment? any way getting back to the point..your main aim is to keep the public interested in what they are reading. i mean people buy the papers if people wrote crap stories or boreing ones then the news will lose face respect and custom. so yes opinions you have keep to your self. write how it is. in the words that have been given to you especialy if you have been to a conference. just make good reading and you did it. find out what exams you have to take to qualify for your international visa. maybe your company can put you in for this and help out. good luck..
