What makes a woman a woman?

Someone who has had some female parts removed through illness is still a woman of course. And was born one in the first place. A she-male is never going to have cancer of the ovary or womb now are they?

glad you brought this one up....it is true to say that some women of whom cannot conceive are still 100% woman...right.?!...A man that is surgically alltered -by whatever desire-is nothing more than a pastiche, parody, of what 'he' thinks a female is.That is how we see these 'alter males'......it takes a whole lot more than ..lipstick..powder...and paint to be a girl. For me to see a grown man teeter along in size 10 high heels and hitchin up his skirt because 'he' hasn't the hips to keep his 'panties 'on is to say the least...ludicrous....In extreme circumstances some men are Hermaphradite geneticlly, and should be afforded every thing to determine his chosen wanted gender. But to have to see 'she/men guzzle pint after pint in evening dress in the middle of the afternoon in a pub or sip pink gin fizz with their spade hands and pinky finger raised in a pseudo female mannerism is a belly buster !!.....my mate once said.." if she dont bleed , she aint no *****"....crude , i know, but a simple thought.

If they put that much effort into becomeing a woman, we should let them be called women. But, truly they are usually still referred to a transgendered people, and not true women.
I was born a female and am one still. That's what makes me a woman technically. I could say, "I'm a woman because I've procreated", but that's not fair to those who can't. I could say, "I'm a woman because I have breasts" But again, some don't, and also some men do. I could say " I'm a woman because I know what it's like to live under a man's thumb and not be paid as much as men, no matter what the profession" but some women are exceptions, and some men are under another man's thumb in a similar way, so you are a woman if, A. You feel that you are a woman, and B. You live your life as a woman.

By that logic people who are sterile from birth have no gender, wise up! What makes a person the gender they are is what is in their mind, most people are born the right gender but some people are just unlucky. There have been cases for people wanting to change gender since history began and each culture treated these people diffrently, some accepted them some made them out casts. I think that in the 21st Century we should have enough intelligence to see past the biology issue and accept them. Whats the problem anyway, why should people have anything against them, its their life and their choice.

I have real problems with the concept of sex changes too, but if this is what it takes for this person to feel truly happy, then who exatly are any of us to judge? Nobody is perfect and we all have weird aspects to us. Let the she-male live in peace and stop hassling her, especially if she looks and acts like a woman. It has taken a lot of guts for him to come to his decision about it, and to cross dress for two years, as well as go through rigorous counselling sessions for that time too before surgeons will even consider the operations, so perhaps she is to be admired for his strength of character and determination to do whatever it took to be happy regardless of wht society might think of him (her?)

People can say whatever they want.
That doesn't mean they're right.
If your vagina was created by a man you are an artificial woman.
Only God can make a real woman.

It depends what you mean by "real." If by real you mean like...scientific stuff, then these "she males," as you call them can't be real women. But if by real you mean in spirit, then they can be. That's the whole reason they change: because they feel more comfortable as women and they feel like in mind and spirit they're women. Everyone should be able to respect, accept, and celebrate that.
