I've been to gay clubs and about 80% of the lesbians I saw are so frumpy, overweight and have these god awful men's hairstyles - Why do they pay so little attention to beautifying themselves? Why wear men's clothing? One can still express their masculine sides in nicer, much more suitably fitted clothing? Any thoughts?

Well even a skanky looking straight woman in wall-mart would dress up on a saturday night if she were going out - But how these butch lesbians get in bars and clubs on a saturday night dressed like they dress is beyond me?

I wonder where you are from, because here I rarely see that. All the little butchies at the bar always look hot. Granted there are the occasional few who look as you described but 9 out of 10 are dressed nice and looking good. I guess some people just dont care what they wear and what can you do about that? Come to KY sometime and go to Lex or Louisville and you will see all the hotties.

Umm, did you ever stop and think maybe you just answered your own question. Are you a male? And you took notice of this butch phenomenon right? You said you don't find it attractive. Well, maybe that's the point. Butch lesbians are masculine women attracted to women. Maybe they dress the way they do because they don't WANT men hitting on them! Did you ever stop and think about it THAT way? Many of them that I have seen are a little overweight as well, but there's also some very thin, athletic body butches that are HOT too. I know MANY MANY butches that take pride in their appearance and I call them "femme butches" because they're almost like a lesbian metrosexual to me. I had an ex that was butch actually that would ONLY wear designer clothes, would use a lint roller on all her clothes (including her hat) before she went out and would even pluck her eyebrows. Being "butch" is not just about a style of dress. It's about an attitude and a demeanor. That is just the way butches are. You need to get out more. There's just as many types of butches as there are any other type of people. I used to be "butch" before I transitioned from female to male, and I always got classified as a preppy, intellectual looking GAY MAN! I go out to the clubs too, and when I do, I don't dress up or anything, I just wear what's comfortable. I usually go out in a white tee shirt with like a nice button up shirt over it, maybe some nice jeans, belt, men's casual dress shoes and I have short, spiky hair. What's wrong with that? If I'm going to a club where I'm going to be drinking, dancing and getting all sweaty and in a smoke filled place, I'm not gonna wear something like Versace or anything. What kind of places are you going to?

I'm curretly with a soft stud and she always looks GOOD when we go out. Sometimes I find that she's much more meticulous about how she looks than I am. Don't know what women you're seeing, maybe since you're not attracted to that type of woman you're very judgemental about the small percentage of butches that do look as you described.

that hurts my feelings. i dress up when i have to or feel like i do. i really don't know what to say about the hair though since i wear braids. I'm sorry if hate the hair and clothing. if you find it annoying or disgusting than don't go after the girls who look like that. however, you might miss out on someone with a good personality if you worry about looks so much. unless you're a straight person just commenting on looks.

I dress in men's clothing, and pardon my saying so, but I think I look damn sexy, and a good handful of people will agree with me. So where is it you're hanging out at? And why worry about it, anyway? If you don't like the way they dress, don't talk to them.

ALL the butches I dated were clean,nicely groomed,and smelled good. (Wore nice cologne.) I know more smelly,slovenly men,than butchie girls,lol. Some people,no matter whom they are,just don't care about appearances,period.

Because THAT's THE WAY THEY ARE.
I see a lot of straight, Christian women walking around as frumpy as the devil.....no makeup, fat, grossly-stained sweat pants, dirty tennis shoes, hair going every which way, smelling like dirty laundry. They're in Wal-Mart all the time.
Could it be because THAT'S THE WAY THEY ARE?
Those are my thoughts.
