I think it's a very pretty name. Why don't you go by Gen? If you don't like it or even Genny? It think they are both cute. Genevieve is a beautiful name though! You should be proud of it!

There are a lot worse names out there. How about Hilda,Bertha,
Gertrude,Irma,etc.? Genevieve is actually a nice name compared
to some. Count your blessings.

Because they agreed on it and liked it. I know when we had all of our girls, we thought, overthought on names. We knew that they would have to walk around with it for the rest of their lives. We wanted it to "fit" each one.
Your name is beautiful, and, you can even shorten it to Gen or Genny or maybe even Eve.
I know when we were choosing names, we'd also look up the definition. I look up yours..
Most of the sites said the same thing, that it means Pure. Not bad. Some defintions of names are horrible, even if the name is pretty. Yours is both a pretty name and meaning.
If you don't like your name, you can change it legally someday if you want, but I like it....Just my thoughts..Hope it helped...

That's my middle name. I prefer the French pronunciation of the name...much better to the English way. :-)

Seriously, if you don't like the name, get it legally changed. Or use a nickname. Either way works.
