My brother has dwarfism, and he wouldn't be offended by being called a midget. He has a good sense of humor about it though.
In answer to your question, Verne Troyer (Mini Me) is more popular right now, but I think Warwick Davis has been in more movies. He was in Willow and he's Flitwick in the Harry Potter Series. He's been in a lot more than that, so I'd say he's more famous than Mini Me.
