I can't go to university straight after year 12, i would like to go to university as a mature aged student though. I would like to to T.A.F.E courses and work in a vet, while studieng, is this possible? Also what T.A.F.E courses should i choose, any thing i should do, to help me get there?
I've volunteerd in animal parks/ rspc before so i've felt what it would be like to do every day and i'm sure its what i want..
This has been my dream since i was a little girl. I love helping animals.

start taking your core classes (math, history, English) you can do this part time at a community college as long as the credits transfer, you can even do online classes if you like, most school will also give you around 12 credits for life experience, find out the requirements at the college you like at get a job that will meet those. As a entry level job, you can get a job as a vet assistant, which is where you assist the techs. This would be better than some kind of kennel help job.
This way you still live your life but still work towards your goal. It takes 8 full years to become a vet (just like a Doctor). If this is to long for you then become a vet technician (an animal Rn) this is the next step done from being a vet and is only a 2-3 year degree, you'll do more than the vets themselves. The only thing a tech can't do is diagnose and perscribe meds.

Good Luck!

To get into Vet school you need to keep your grades high. any average under 3.2 is a very bad sign. keep up your animal experience & talk to the university now.
