What does it mean?
There were 9 of us in a covert operation to rescue somebody being held hostage.
We were supplied with a lot of firepower. We were discovered by the enterance, and there were hundreds of civilians in line that saw our team.
I held them at bay with my machine gun, the others took off for their escape. I just stood there ready to shoot them all down if they attempted to get close to us.
Then those with firepower started to get closer so I had to try to take them out, but they just kept on coming.
I then began to run, firing behind me.
They were almost upon me, but three jeeps of my team cut them off. with more firepower.
We were close to escaping, but went down the wrong path to a dead end. That was no problem because we were killing everything that came at us.
Then I woke up...still fresh on my mind, me firing that gun right at people.
Any ideas?

Power control issues. Do you feel that you have a supervisor breathing down your neck to get a project done ? There are also anxiety issues here, getting trapped in a dead end.
Also, I think that you have been watching too much of the news in Iraq and Afghanistan or too many violent films.
Enjoy your day.

This is what I'd tell a friend if they told me the dream you talk about. You're part of something good (the hostage rescue)/ you think someone needs rescuing in life so you're there. The firepower is your resource - what you need to get the job done. On another level it could be talents or skills that you have in life. You have lots of the stuff. I think fire from a symbolic point of view can be strength or creativity. You run and they chase you, but others on the team have your back. Who wouldn't want that. The dead end could be a problem, but if you keep attacking the obstacles with determination, it is no problem. You get the job done. Be ready to fire. Of course there might be significance to the actual 'killing' people, but I just wanted to give you a general idea. Just my opinions. I think it's a great dream and hope it inspires you!

Let me analyze this dream.
Rescue mission = support, help, heroic behavior
fire power = obstacles in life
enemies = people you hate, don't like
Killing = fulfillment
Your dream is telling you that you are a person who wants to accomplish everything. You are not just a hero, but also a person who wants to accomplish every task if you can. You projected yourself as rescue hero and at the hero, you finished up with a a killing (that means fulfillment). In real life, you may or may not have opportunities in fulfilling stuff you want to do, but subconsciously you revealed all in dreams.
This dream is not so much about anger or people you hate when you killed. It is more concentrate on how you react in life. You want to accomplish the task from beginning to end. Basically, to me this dream is revealing your true personalities. You like to support and help people. You don't really take failure for an answer.
I could be wrong, but this is how I see from your dream.

I think there's been so much of the war coverage on TV, radio, newspapers, and magazines (and so much talk about it on here), that it got to you. It put you directly in the action. If you watched the news before bed, or read any of the articles, it would have been the last thing on your mind and manifested itself into your subconscious. Also, are you in the military? Have you recently found out that you're going overseas? Or have you ever been in any war-type situation? Any of these things could trigger the mind to dream about these things.

sounds like you were dreaming about the war (assumably the one in Iraq) and you and you're friends were trying to fight off the enemy (and apparently doing a good job of it)
Sounds like you were wishing you were able to help in some way.
