Is there a physical difference between a 'stupid' person and an 'intelligent' person, or is it purely psychological?

In other words, do intelligent people possess something that stupid people don't?

Intelligent people possess brains that they actually use & common sense (which isn't so common anymore). Is there such a thing as stupidity??? Just look around! Stupidity runs rampant!

I think the word stupid is only another put-down word to make one person make the other feel inferior--an ego trip, so to speak. ALL HUMANS regardless of physical differences (unless otherwise diagnosed by qualified authorities) possess an amount of intelligence and all can develop and maximize (perhaps surpass) it by perseverance, dedication, self-challenge etc. toward achievement, in effect topping ones "own level" of intelligence. Every person is entitled to do, ask, or say something "stupid" once in a while. It is the unknown that we question according to our understanding (perhaps a slow learner, not an under achiever) and a fast learner or high achiever without patience or concern will consider using the word "stupid." However, we can all learn and not repeat "stupid" mistakes, this is how we grow. Remember you once asked yourself, "How could I have made such a s----d mistake?"

If you mean a physical attribute, then no. Stupidity crosses all the lines: socioeconomic, race, gender, and even intellectual. I work at a university and there are a number of PROFESSORS who are indeed stupid and I question why I can't get into grad school and some of those idiots did get in. As for the wealthy, here's an obvious example of wealthy stupidity: Paris Hilton. She might look good to some people, but seriously, could anyone over the age of four have a decent conversation about a serious topic with her (hair and makeup doesn't count)? I'm with the other poster who said that the only thing stupid people have in common with one another is a lack of common sense...and they refuse to do anything to learn common sense. It's called willful stupidity and it seems to be spreading across the country like wildfire.

of course, in abundance. Check out some of the questions.

The differentiation between the stupid and intelligent person is not at physical - remember the saying, the looks can be deceptive, the physical looks does not guarantee the mental status of that person. It is purely mental ability of the person to relate to the things at that point of time. May be call it presence of mind.

It also has got to do with the gods grace to some extent.

Cheers

Then there's the IQ test. Anything under 70 is stupid, over 100 smart, in between... average.

In rare instances, gross stupidity can be attributed to brain abnormality, but usually, "stupid is as stupid does". In no way is it psychological.

Intelligence has nothing to do with worthiness or likeability. Or any other possession.

'nuff said?

The only thing intelligent people posses that "stupid", although I like to say "not-so-smart" people don't is an ability to sort out, remember accurately, and reintroduce the knowledge they've absorbed in their lives.

Yes,no physical diffference, but inacurate coordination of physical activity and the thinking of the brain.People with high IQ do and judge things in a more acceptable manner of accuracy and speed than the dull ones who need to be told that do this before they do

They say Einstein had more neural connections in his brain than anyone else.

My flip answer to the headline of your question was: Such a thing as stupidity? - One word: Dubya. (As in King George the Second).

If there are no stupid questions, then what kind of questions do stupid people ask? Do they get smart just in time to ask questions?
