It's hot and the shirt just gets all sweaty. Me being topless seems to distract some people, one way or the other.

Good manners dictate that you should leave it on, the only time to go bare chested is in the privacy of your own home. Keep it to yourself! if your shirt gets sweaty, do what women do, use an effective antiperspirant and take a change of shirt.
(only because women get into trouble if they go topless- ok some men would say it's great, but believe me, someone would report them for indecent exposure!)

thank you for your answer, re: going to a law professor or tenured student, i will most certainly try that..........now about your shirt, dont worry too much about being topless and distracting people, i seem to have the same problem, we all do, in South africa when its summer, we LIKE it that way! but im sure what you really want to know, is if we think you can walk around like that, you may.....just dont catch a cold cocky. enjoy

Yes, leave it off, but put some sunscreen on. Your body needs to cover that white safely and even out the farmer tan.

it depends on the public setting it may be offensive to some if your in your own backward that may be OK if you have privacy fence. but in general keep your shirt on
