I have nail polish from as long ago as 17 years - is it still okay to use?

No, throw those away. Nail polish can only be kept 6 months to a year I think. Bacteria can get in it. And the chemical compounds of the polish will lose its effectiveness.

it depends on if the bottle has been open but 17 years seem a little bit long you might want to throw that away 11/2 is the best i think

It will get all cloggy, dried up and it will be impossible to use. If it's not good anymore, you'll know!
If it's not like that yet, damn, girl, you've got good nail polish! What brand is it?

In seventeen years the chemical bases may have become unstable. But what is the worse that could happen? It could dissolve your nails?

I don't think anything bad happens to it, but it'll probably be too thick to use after that long.

open it and see! I don't think that it will have become unsafe, just a bit gloopy
