It seems to be the way society is going i'm affraid. Frankly I blame the person who invented the phrase 'I know my rights'! Yes we all have rights but we're not always right, that seems to be the part that confuses people. It has also become socially unacceptable to say it like it is! Young people no longer act like little b*@$&£^s, they are just 'disengaged' and need to be entered into some youth programme that will take them rock climbing and other various fun activities! Most young people are living in a consequence free environment and they know it! It has become the fashionable thing to have an attitude and act in a selfish, self centre manner!

Because we have allowed “children” to believe that they are adults.

Children must go through a rite of passage into adulthood. As adults we should be teaching the children what adults are and what they have to achieve to be recognized as an adult. When they have learned those things there should be a rite of passage recognizing that they have now taken on the cloak of adulthood with all of the attached responsibilities.

Since our society doesn’t do this anymore, children attempt to do what they intuitively know must occur, that is, have some right of passage and act like an adult. Since they have never been taught the correct steps to achieve this, they do it incorrectly.

As a society we have taken a wrong path of not enforcing responsibility on children because it might hurt the feelings of children. That is, we have not taken on the responsibilities of a teaching adult and thereby we end up harming the children.

I'm sure this isn't going to go over really well with anybody else, but I really think it's because they're being raised mostly by the "ME" generation. They think they are entitled to things that older people had to fight for, and were taught to put themselves first. They don't seem to care much if they offend anyone (because it's not their problem), but God forbid if anyone else does something to bother THEM. The lack of respect for authority appalls me, as does their complete unwillingness to take personal responsibility for anything that goes wrong in their life, and I'm really worried about which direction the country is going. To be fair, I'm making a very broad, blanket generalization, which normally pisses me off (if anyone else does it). I DO know that there are some really good kids out there, whose parents are raising them well - I just don't see very much of that. That's all I see are kids who were raised on video games and R rated movies who don't think there's anything wrong with telling someone to f*** off. It makes me sad.

just the way society is, things have been made easier for everyone
and also i dont know anyone who stays at home all day long rearing their own kids they usually have to get
out and work as the price on things these days are just so expensive.
its the child screaming out for routine and discipline in any form they can get
its attention to them none the less
they are still innocent children though

Because they have models like Britney Spears, Jessica Simpson, and Paris Hilton. Because so many parents don't want to tell their children "no" and they become used to hearing "yes". They think the world owes them everything.

Its the way they are being brought up. Children are able to talk freely now and are given no bounderies I remember when i was young I was told speak when you are spoken to and don't interupt a conversation and wasn't allowed to listen to adult conversations, well this is in my experience.
