well.. for starters.. you should always have an anti-virus programme.. I'm on Norton.. and it's really good cos everything you download or save from the web to your computer (etc) is scanned for viruses.. anyway.. back to your question..

you can find loads of anti-virus systems out on the web like Norton, Symantec, Anti-Spyware (etc) but when you reach a really fatal stage, it is better to seek experts.. but i suggest if you realize u have trojan horse/virus (etc) :
1. Run a FULL SYSTEM SCAN IMMEDIATELY (they'll take u from there)
or
2. REFORMAT WINDOWS (only when there's no hope for your computer to 'live'

p.s. remember to back up all your files before reformatting..

1) Check for spyware. Run both Ad-aware (http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/) and Skybot (http://www.safer-networking.org/) to remove any spyware. Run both as one may caught something the other missing. Then go to microsoft.com and download Defender to protect against future infections.

2) Run a complete system scan with your Anti-Virus software. Make sure it is up to date. If you do not have an uptodate Virus program, go to download.com and get AVG Free.

Between them it should be able to clean any torjans or viruses you have on the PC

If you get a virus or a trojon horse something like that, run tests, like mcafee, spy bot, trend micro, etc. I recommend Norton Antivirus, the best to remove viruses and stuff, so just use that.

Hope I helped.
