No the Iranian people really like Americans and our culture but since Bush got into office and declared War or a "Crusade" as he put it, they are worried that we are going to invade their country. The leaders of Iran never like America because they knew one day that we would get to their country. Now that we are in the Middle East the Ayatollah can gain support from his people by telling them that America is coming to change their way of life. The people Iran have now been turned against us.

The country in general I believe is not hateful. The problem is that the leaders are hateful and radical and since there are no free elections, the moderate, pro rights citizens have no say and if they speak out they disappear. There is a large number of people who would love a democracy. Unfortunately without any outside influence nothing will change.

I wouldn't say the country as a whole. Their leader seems that way, and sure, he has his supporters. But there's got to be decent people there, too, who want peace.
