The Syrian Catholic Church is one of the Eastern Rite Churches. They are in complete union with the the Universal Patriarch who is Pope Benedict XVI. It is governed by the Ignace Pierre VIII who is the Catholic Syrian Patriarch of Antioch (Lebanon). This See was formed by St. Peter before he formed the Roman See. The Syrian Catholic Church is today strongest in Iraq and Lebanon. They use the ancient liturgy of the Apostle St. James.

yup, this girl @ my school is a syrian catholic...half mexican and half middle eastern. she's really nice.
