Lying and deception are a natural part of all human interaction to varying degrees. Socially, you couldn't be honest all the time without offending someone, which in turn would stir up resentment and a longing for revenge. People tell lies because it is a necessity. All men are compelled to take action out of necessity.

To tell the truth or not tell the truth; that is the question.

We tell lies to get OUR WAY in spite of the fact that it is not ours to have. A lie delays REALITY so the truth of anything must eventually come around for REALITY to keep existing

It is like wetting your pants; at first it is warm and a relief but later it is cold, very uncomfortable and rather disagreable to the nose.

Very simple, slaves to sin! The sin you are most in love with is different for everyone. Some people seem to not have enough will power over their need to lie.
They are either lying to make themselves sound better, not get in trouble, keep another's secret, don't hurt their friends feelings when she asks you if that dress makes her look fat, or to their kids to protect them when their other parent is a loser and you tell them "oh your mommy or your daddy sure do love you"

many reasons, you really have to listen to the lie, know who it is that's lying and you can usually figure out why.

people who tell lies do so because they have a personaliy disorder. am not talking about the little white lies that we tell to cover up stuff. there are pathogenic liars, who lie because they have a low self esteem and can't accept who they are. they develop the habit and they just can't kick it without psychiatric help. it has already sunk in their subconscious that that what is true is not good enough so maybe what is not true could be.

Vocalization, including speech, singing and even yelling, is a form of communication that enables an individual to meet their needs in an efficient way. It is common to lack the necessary skills to speak, sing or yell with 100% success in meeting your needs.

Lies are a sub-set of speech. So it serves a function the same as other parts of vocalization. It is meeting some need perceived by the individual that is best served - in their opinion - by telling a lie.

;-D I never lie! hahahaha!

To avoid hurting feelings.
To hide shameful information from others.
To make their lives sound more interesting.
To gain friends or fit in socially.
To try and earn respect.

Lying doesn't get you very far. I learnt that when I had a job as an evil criminal mastermind, and I would've got away with most stuff if it wasn't for those pesky Thundercats. Honestly.
