I believe it is wonderful. Most of the world doesn't realize there are 56 different ethnic groups in China. There are Chinese near Russia who has blonde hair and blue eyes.
Although most of the world believes there is no religious freedom, I know their Muslim population is quite large. The Christian churches are flourishing. The party congress passed a freedom of religion law.
They will not bow to the pope and take orders from the Vatican. The Chinese do not like some of the religious information that second guess the government. Of course that material is from Rome.
All and all, it is great. My five years here have been like living in a dream world.

I worked in China for about 9 months, so I have knowledge, but no expertise in this matter. I think the Chinese people are very nice. They were always happy to see me, and would work very well. Their culture is different, not better, and not worse than mine. Eating at an authentic restaurant was a very different experience. The language of the Chinese is very difficult to learn, without schooling. As far as their written language, it would take years to get started on it. Over all I had a wonderful time working and learning in China. Oh, I worked in Shanghai.
