its more of bush's dog.. if u happen to see one of the video clip by george michael called " Shoot The Dog".. Indeed though Tony Blair always join in the chorus of whatever Bush sings. That is why the British people are so frustrated with Mr Blair that most of the time have to pressure Mr Blair to stand with the people and not Bush.

I think it's good to party after all the seriousness of world affairs. We in Asia know how to party and get the VVIPs to join in. Check this out...........

While the Middle East crisis, concern over North Korea's missile programme and Burma's failure to introduce democratic reform look set to dominate a busy agenda, there is another topic that is the subject of considerable speculation.

People want to know who is going to perform what at the gala dinner.

The Association for Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Regional Forum (ARF) has become well known for the party which comes near the end a packed week of talks.

It is an opportunity for top officials to relax and indulge in some healthy international competition.

Foreign ministers from participating nations vie with one another to perform songs and sketches full of topical, often pointed commentary on regional issues.

The performances can involve complex costumes and the backing of well-rehearsed lower-ranking officials from amongst the delegations.

Previous numbers have included a Russian minister dressed as Star Wars baddie Darth Vader and an Australian attempt to demonstrate beach cricket while singing Beach Boys song Kokomo.

OTHER STAR PERFORMERS

Russia's Sergei Lavrov: Yellow Submarine, Jesus Christ Superstar
Australia's Alexander Downer: Spirit in the Sky, Kokomo
US' Madeleine Albright: Thanks for the Memories

But it is the US that has excelled in the past, and in particular, former Secretary of State Colin Powell.

At the 2001 meeting in Hanoi, he dressed as a cowboy to sing a country and western song about doomed love to then Japanese Foreign Minister Makiko Tanaka, in traditional Vietnamese dress, who ended the song with a kiss for her US counterpart.

The following year, he played a pre-recorded video compilation which showed people including President Bush and his wife begging him not to sing again.

But his star turn came in 2004, when he donned a hard hat and carried a hammer to perform the Village People classic YMCA. He was backed by five US officials in the colourful outfits - including policeman and biker - made famous by the original band.

Pianist

Now the torch has been passed to Condoleezza Rice, who has not yet made her debut on the ARF stage.

She was represented last year at the summit by Deputy Secretary of State Robert Zoellick, whose version of Oh My Darling Clementine was reportedly overshadowed by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov's Jedi turn.

When you're not so sweet, I call the Seventh Fleet, that's the American way

Madeleine Albright, with a version of Thanks for the Memories

So it is up to Ms Rice to restore national pride, and at the same time, bring some proven talent to the event.

Reports suggest Ms Rice plans to perform a piano recital, rather than a sketch, preferring a more sombre option to reflect concern over the fighting in the Middle East.

She is an accomplished pianist with a passion for chamber music and at one point considered pursuing music as a career.

She has played for a variety of audiences and in 2002, internationally renowned cellist Yo-Yo Ma asked her to accompany him for a piece during a ceremony in Washington.

"I'm going to do a serious piece," Ms Rice is reported to have said. "A reflective piece. Brahms is always good for that."

Malaysian officials said the foreign ministers would collectively sing an Asean song.

"Everyone will perform," said a foreign ministry spokesman. "They will be backed up by a choir, so even if they don't sing, there will be back up there."
