it so happens that if u view the calculator in the standard mode, there is an option labelled sqrt to find square root.
In the scientific mode (go to view menu and select scientific calculator), there is pi. So what u can do is write down the value of pi fron the scientific mode and then enter it in the standard mode , and then click on sqrt which will give the required answer.
Or else in the scientific mode u could click on pi and then on x^y where y=0.5.

square of pi = 1.7724538509

For the Windows calculator, look for the "sqrt" in the standard calculator mode and use x^y in the scientific calculator mode where y=0.5 for square root.

Start by checking which mode the program's set in. It's at the top of the View menu.

If you've got Windows Calculator set in Standard mode, you can just use the "sqrt" button (or the "@" keyboard shortcut).

If it's set in Scientific mode, you can click the "Inv" checkbox, then the "x^2" button (or use the keyboard shortcuts for each: first "i" then "@". Yes, "@" is "sqrt" in Standard mode, but "x^2" in Scientific mode. Weird, ain't it?) You can also use "x^y" and 0.5 for the power, as other people have pointed out, but "Inv" "x^2" is quicker.

And, as others have said, sqrt(pi) comes out to about:

1.7724 5385 0905 5160 2729 8167 4833 41...

Hope that helps. :)

Your question has been answered. But hey, what's with the Geoffrey Dahmer picture? Are you fascinated by serial killers?

If any of the victims' relatives were to see this, they would find it very offensive. You should think about this...
