How to smoke out of an apple?

I've seen it in the movie 40 year old virgin but do not know how to do it.....and is it addictive?

Poke on hole in the side of your apple, half-way through to the core. Poke another hole from the top, down to join the first hole, making an "L"-shaped tunnel. There you have a pipe. Put your buds on the top hole, trying to see that they don't drop inside, and smoke away merrily. It will make your smoke Apple Fresh!

Your apple pipe will get pretty nasty, pretty fast through a Satanic combination of heat, spit, and tar. But when the cops come, you have to eat it. It's better than prison food.

i didn't see this movie, we used to do it years ago when you had nothing else. you simply cut a round hole in the side of the apple down to the core, this will be the bowl part. then use a straw and insert it through another side with the bowl on top so that the straw comes through to the core. then you use foil to line the bowl part and poke holes in it with a pin. fill the bowl with your favorite smoke. it enhances the taste of whatever you are smoking. the addiction part probably depends on the substance, we all know that tobacco and crack are addictive and supposedly marijuana isn't but i don't think the actual smoking out of an apple is addicting, it gets old.

They were just using the apple as a "pipe"... like a bong for example. It was supposedly pot that they were smoking in the top of the apple in the movie.
