I hate insects in my house...keep them down by spraying an insecticide around the perimeter outside your house and make sure you plug up any holes coming into your house...like where wires and pipes come in. This will drastically cut down on the number of critters that come in. Some will still make it in and then it's just a killing game. Good luck!

There is a product called 'Home Defense' that kills every type of spider you can imagine. You spray it around your foundation perimeter, then you spray it around the room perimeter in side.
I saw an infested basement go from thousands of spiders to dead spider carcases in a matter of days. I use it now in a house in the southern US. We have spiders all over the lawn, but not inside (knock on wood).
You can get it at Home Depot, or Lowes.
