I was emailed from a girl this morning who lives in Bulgaria, she said it's really nice but you need to watch your belongings!
I'm in the same boat as you chick we go to Albena in four weeks which is right near to Sunny Beach.
My cousin has been to sunny beach and he loves it, loads to do, watch out for the prostitutes though they have rooms upstairs in a couple of the bars!

I'm just back from Bulgaria and it was the best holiday i've ever had in my life (been to all the other usual holiday places). You'll love it. I stayed in Sunny Beach in a 5 star hotel and it was so cheap. A pint of lager will cost you around 40p in our money! Went out for a three course meal (2 of us) and the total bill including a drink was £3.50! The beaches are spotless and the weather was fantastic. The locals don't speak a lot of English though, although most are fluent in German. Honestly - you'll have a great time there - I'd go back every year if i could. Have a great holiday!

Bulgaria - great country, great people. Assuming you are going to the Black Sea coast, in September the weather might start to cool off a bit, but should still be pretty good. Some of the Black Sea resorts are not to my taste. Varna is a great city, better than Sofia (the capital). Inland, the countryside is fantastic. Don't listen to what people say about awful food and drink - not true. You just have to be more "adventurous"!. Not the best place for vegetarians though.

Hi! dont go ! stick to Spain or Greece.. Bulgaria has tried hard to shed the old Moscow image - with some new fancy hotels down Sunny Beach way.. You will have people tell you .. you can eat all can for a fiver... and you cant spend your money - ... You wouldnt want to eat/drink any of it - and there is nothing to spend your money on. But .. then again if the holiday is cheap .. go and try it.. Regards
