We would have no borders and no laws against anyone entering any way they choose.
No one would be allowed to own any type of firearm with the exception of bodyguards of people like Rosie O'Donnell. The police would be allowed to CARRY firearms, but would not be allowed to USE them under any circumstances.
The military would be severely downsized, if not completely disbanded. (Why have a military if we have the U.N.)
Capitol police would not require identification from anyone that could, in any way shape or form, be confused with Cynthia McKinney.
Anyone would be able to say anything they wanted, anywhere they wanted... unless it might, in any way shape or form, offend anyone that is a member of, or could be a member of some sort of a minority.
Students would be able to do, say or wear anything they want to in school unless it could, possibly, be interpreted as promoting any version of a Judeo-Christian religion (or, as mentioned above, a minority might be offended).
Minimum wage would be raised to $15.00/hr to help the "underprivileged" causing most small businesses and some large businesses to close. High school and college students would be unable to find work.
Cost of living would increase due to the high employment costs of businesses being passed on to customers.
Productivity would decrease nationwide due to the income tax increases that would be enacted on anything over the poverty level to pay for the government programs helping people that can't find jobs due to high minimum wage. (Why put in any overtime if it is just going to be taxed away?)
Skilled workers would move to another country to escape over-taxation.
The rich would still be rich since they, like the Kennedys, will avoid the taxes by placing their money in off shore tax shelters.

Amazingly, I think a lot would be the same.

Being a conservative, a lot of the arguments I hear from the other side of the aisle tend to contradict themselves. I think the hypocritical part of politics, especially concerning left-leaning libs, is that Republicans agree with Democrats more than we appear to. When it comes time for an election (every two years), you see top politicians pander to their constituency to stay in office or to get into office. If they were unchallenged and didn't have to worry about it as much, their true ideals would show. And in my opinion, the left wouldn't do all the things they say they oppose...

Fewer wars, more social programs, more recycling, higher taxes on corporations and millionaires, better relations with the UN and other nations, stronger schools, and better standards for protecting the environment.

You'd have to suffer a certain degree of political correctness, but I've tolerated Bible-thumping self-righteousness through most of this Administration so it'd be a fair shake.

Diplomacy would triumph over corporate interests, and hyperbole. So probably no senseless war in Iraq over fabricated evidence, which is sacrificing our son and daughters while Bush's oil-buddies recline in the safety of their offices, counting cash. Say what you want about Clinton, Bush's administration is far more corrupt and inept, and thousands of people have died through his actions.

In it's own way, it would be just as bad as if the far right Republicans ran America unchallenged. For a democracy to function efficiently, there must be input from all of its citizens. I consider myself a liberal Democrat, but, as much as I abhor some of the practices and philosophies of the far right, we could not function as a society and move forward without them. Removing people who you don't agree is something that was done in 1940's Germany or the Soviet Union. It is not the American way.

high taxes, and many government programs to keep the poor and middle class under the thumb of the federal government. the rich would stay rich, and the poor would get more and more dependent on the federal government. also the employment rate would plummet as more company's pack up and leave America for tax relief. radical Islam would be ignored to the point that the world will pick sides and begin the third world war.

We'd be way more socialistic and most likely would pay more taxes to cover the cost. But that would not be a problem for me if I could get things like free healthcare.

More compassion for our fellow citizens, better living conditions, help for the down trodden, less corporate fraud, damn the sex scandals; Republicans have their own skeletons.
More independence from tyranny, more freedoms, more and better jobs, and an all around better place for Humans to live.

A WEAKENED AMERICA MILITARILY AND MORALLY. Just like it was when Clinton was in office. He whittled down the military and made the White House look like a brothel.
