The only kind of patties I know of is, my friend Patty, York Peppermint Patties, chicken patties, hamburger patties, tofu patties....lol

A patty is another name for a pastie - usually a meat and veg mix wrapped in pastry - hence the name "meat patty". They even have "patty pans" in which to cook them.

If you live in or around Hull in east Yorkshire, a Pattie is bought in a fish n chip shop. It is made from mashed potato with sage and onion seasoning. it has a batter coating and is deep fried. The best chip shop for these is Chalice's on Hessle road. Mmmmmmm...... I'm off to the chippy
