It will come about 5 minutes after the last of us are gone from the Earth. We create the world we live in and we will be the end of it. Mankind is the only species capable of committing all the atrocities that make our world a battlefield for the sake of politics. Some like to claim that we live in an age of enlightenment and that we are so much more civilized than our ancient forebears, but, the truth is that we are no more civilized than the first of men. We just use bigger sticks to kill each other with.

When individuals have piece of mind, then the world will become a peaceful place. The trouble with us is that we want others to conform to our interpretation of peace. If people were actually concerned with establishing peace, then they would put others needs first. It's up to each and every individual to establish piece in their own minds first, then the world will automatically become peaceful. Peace isn't something separate from us that we need to seek it. It's a part of human nature that most people have forgotten.

When we all agree to get along.

That doesn't mean we have to all think the same, but we should at least be tolerant and able to cooperate on the basics.

Maybe we need a world government that can actually hold countries and individuals accountable for their actions. Why don't you form a political party in your country that will run for office and make life better for others? Maybe that party, when it gets in power, can sign a treaty to make a world government that is legitimate and Just (unlike the impotent and un-democratic UN).

After we decide to get along, then we have to go through the process of deciding how we are to get along. Simple? Yes. Easy. Probably not.

Sadly, there can be no peace until we're (people) are all gone. People love to argue. Especially when we disagree. People always want stuff. Whether it's land, money, power... people want it and when other's have it they want to take it.
