I know it's minute and we all get background radiation but I would rather not add to it.

Dear Backman,
Radiation is cumulative I just don't want to add to my exposure if unecessary. Didn't know about TV's but haven't got one anyway. Nor a mobile. Nothing against them just prefer to spend my time in other ways. Have got a microwave at work but don't hang around while it is working.

There are several types of smoke detector on the market, optical, radiation, photo-electric, intergrating being a few. Go for an intergrating one as it measures rate of change of temperature - bit expensive tho'

Might be an idea to give Apollo Fire's website a look.

Tv's radiate more radiation, as do Micro waves, what about mobile phones? Just use one it is better to have one than getting burned alive!
