Depends on what type of firewall you want to use. There are 2 types of firewalls, hardware and software and the best way to use a firewall is to use a combination of them. If you want to use software firewalls, I recommend Sygate or zonealarm.

If you are asking about software firewall then you can use Norton personal firewall which will automatically configure itself once you install this program.

if u mean software firewall dont bother just get ur self a good router that costs between 100 bux and 250 bux
get a netgear WPNT834 or FVS338 or linksys WRTSL54GS
i have a FVS338 and thats all u need no crappy software firewall

where? H/w or S/w? S/w then which os and which firewall. There and dozens of options. The basic concept it to map the external IP to internal network and also block/allow specific ports/url etc.
