A lot of times people wear prom/homecoming dresses as bridesmaids dresses. The diffrences is that prom dresses can and tend to be a lot more decorative and diffrent, while bridesmaid dresses are usually more settle(so the eye won't be on them, but on the bride),

Theses ones are much more simple than theses...

They are also much more colorful, as you can see, and are sometimes poofier and more ruffly.

Hope this helps! :D

In my opinion...not much. I have noticed most bridesmaid dresses aren't as "frilly" or sequined as some prom dresses, as they're not supposed to take attention away from the bride, but enhance her looks. But some prom dresses can be used as a bridesmaid dress just fine.

One is a formal dress worn to a prom and the other is a formal dress worn to a wedding. Both can be ugly or beautiful depending on the dress. Although, the wearer usually picks out the prom dress and has little or no choice about the bridesmaid dress, which can suck.

You might want to keep the prom dress. From the bridesmaid dresses that I have seen, it appears that the bride makes sure that the bridesmaids have no chance of looking better than the bride!

it's mostly in the eye of the beholder. however, bridesmaid dresses tend to be more conservative because of the occasion. prom dresses can be more fun/sexy/flashy. If it fits the occasion though you can use whatever dress you like!

prom dresses and brides maid dresses have come a long way . prom dresses are more formal for dinner , bride maids dresses are made to try to be attractive and match the compliment the brides gown without out shining the bride . they are made cheaper and look cheap too .
