Words and Pictures was one i remember, and also Picture Box. I remember SRA too - the big box with the card things in it and the colour scheme. I could never get past the aqua level, but it was easy to cheat as you marked your own answers!

"Schoolhouse Rock," baby! Remember the Preamble song and Conjunction Junction?
And what about "Reading Rainbow?" I'm sitting here singing the theme song right now.
Yep - good old SRA - those reading cards in a box. That program is still around.

I would have started primary school in about 1982 - I have vague memories of a programme called Picturebox(??) - all I remember was a rather posh looking box going round in the middle of the screen.

In the 70s we had this thing with aliens who wrote backwards (mirror writing) but I can't remember what it was called.
