And actually, it increased by 12.3%, so I was wrong and I'm big enough to admit it.
In 2000, poverty levels reached a record low of 11.3%
By 2004 (the last year numbers are available) in had increased to 12.7%. That's up 1.4 points or 12.3% of 2000 levels.

Well,only speaking for myself and my friends: not generally.
I know you were trying to be funny and cute with a tiny hint of bludgeoning subversion (spot the internal paradox), but that's a really stupid thing to say and it shows you up for not having a great deal of experience with people of different backgrounds.
A lot of gay guys I know are actually far more conservative than people who I would consider to be pretty right of centre (although I'm not generalising - I know lots of liberal gay guys too, just not as many). Politically, of course. Most gay men, for obvious reasons, tend to be pretty liberal when it comes to sexual preference.
