sounds like sciatica, i used to get that when i was pregnant and it was a right b***h!

go to the doctor to get it diagnosed properly and they can also recommend some treatments, i cant actually remember what my midwife recommended but i know it didn't work! lol

i kept moving it, despite it being uncomfy and painful, best thing was for me to lie on floor and put my leg in the air and have someone push it into my body to stretch it

hope it gets better soon and good luck :)

You should check this sciatica natural treatment http://cure-sciatica.info
Normally, I would not answer a question like this as my expertise is generally in medication but I had severe sciatica while I was pregnant with my 3rd child (after having had twins) and I had sciatica so bad that I was finding it difficult to walk. I tried massage therapy and physical therapy and could not take medication
I went to the chiropractor and the pain was instantly relieved. My hips and lower back were out of alignment because I had carried twins the year before. On occasion a Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) can also work but they usually only work on one joint at a time - the chiropractor will do your whole back which works faster. Anyone who does not believe in chiropractors will tell you they are quacks - don't listen.
I don't necessarily believe that chiropractors can cure things like diabetes but they can definitely relieve some types of back pain especially if a pinched nerve is involved which is usually the cause of sciatica. Try a reputable chiropractor ASAP!

The pain you have may not be a trapped nerve. I had the same pain and after seeing my GP he ruled out Sciatica. I went to see a Chiropractor who diagnosed the problem as due to bad posture, the pain was caused by compression of muscles in my lower back. I would definitely recommend a Chiropractor but may be worth trying your GP first.

Hope you get it sorted soon.

It may not be a trapped nerve so going to the doctor for correct diagnosis is advised. Then, some of the other suggestions may fix the problem - chiropractor, acupuncture, pilates etc.
Lots of exercise including walking will help too and also help prevent it.

It is Sciatica and is normally caused by the Piriformus muscle trapping the Sciatic nerve against the Pelvis, one home remedy is to do Hamstring stretches...

go and see a chiropratcor, I had the same problem for years.

I saw a chiropractor who was AEC registered (in the UK) and he got rid of the problem in 4-5 treatments. Allplainless and drug free. The drugs that I woul dtake would just mask the problem, hide the pain as it got worse!

Pain tels you somethng is wrong, to hide the pain doesn't do you any goood. Go and see a chiropractor.

I would suggest you see one that is AEC registered and not a McTimony Chiropractor as they are totally different, and only the AEC on e did me any good.

It has transofrmed my health and life for that matter.

Sounds like your sciatic nerve. The result is shooting pains or numbness down the leg. Anti inflammatory painkillers such as Ibuprofen will do. 1 x 400 mg tablet or two by 200 mg tablets do the trick for me.

Do go and get it checked out and avoid lifting anything heavy. And please stay away from alternative treatment for whilst it can help in certain circumstances you need find the cause of the pain, else you may do more harm than good.

As the man said take anti inflammatory they may be all you need as they help relax the muscles. Also heat pads and A TENS machine may help you.
