Worked there for 2 years. No bad feelings against americans, do not worry at all.

KSA is a conservative country, you need to take that into consideration. So, it really depends on how liberal you feel right now because life there is different. They have seperate everything for single men and families, even in fast food outlets.

Jeddah is more liberal than Riyadh, so life there is more suitable for a person from a western background.

Life inside certain compunds are great, it is like living in europe so try to find an apartment there.

People are nice, most speak english.

not worked in SA but I love the middle east. Been to Abu Dhabi three times and Dubai once. Loved the culture and all that goes with it. But I do believe the Arabs are totally in control of their country.. I suppose as it should be really. So just treat them with respect and you will get along fine. Somethings you can research on the net so have a look and enjoy.. i wish i could do that..

I worked in Riyadh and Jeddah, Saudi Arabia for more than 6 years.

It's OK for you to work there. But to tell you frankly, 'leftist' really don't want people like you. But don't worry, Saudi Arabia is still safe for whites...

no, sorry. I haven't worked there. But I'm sure you can do some research on the matter and chat with people online from that country or nearby countries that may have relatives or friends there or visited.
