Who makes viruses?

Do you think that the Anti-Virus companies form some viruses themselves and release them on the web so users can get affected and then sell the anti-virus software to get rid of it? Iv seen some things on watchdog which made me ask this question. Im not saying ALL viruses but some? to boost profits and sales figures?

Could be I would not put it past them but there are some disobedient people about who would create VIRUS for sake of other suffering.

This type of person or persons has no moralities or principles. They just want to create mischief. By doing this they think they are very clever, bright, intelligent, intellectual and gifted but in realities they are they’re to damage, harm, and do the destruction.

The most common place that you can get viruses on your computer is from down loading music and movies off the internet from share ware, peer to peer etc. So in all purpose respect it's what we are doing on our computers that puts 95 % of the viruses there.

I believe you are right, Anti virus companies created someof those viruses. But I believe they did it to test their Software and it's Integrity etc. It's like the Firewall s.w.in the market.I believe firewall companies/programmers hire some hackers to try to crack/break their security so they can see the weakness of their firewall and re-program upgrade... so same thing probably to the viruses ^_^ (But some do it for challenging their own abilitiesand skills =P

viruses are made by 1)users who design malicous code and distribute them on to the internet with the aim to infect the whole world network 2)companys who advertise on crappy websites and will often show flash messages saying "your computer is infected"and telling you to click here to fix it,you are then told to download a program for free,this will then install a virus,and probally spyware,and can be impossible to get rid off 3)larger software companies like norton/mcafee/trend all have virus writers working for them(allthough this cannot be proved),they infect the network with viruses so we have to buy the companies software 4)ourselves....when we continue to use the internet without anti-virus protection we get infected and then pass it on through e-mails to friends/family...then they will do the same
viruses are not as big of a problem these days,spyware is the worst problem and comes in more types of infection(adware,keylogger,cwwsearch,win32)

there are more than sufficient number of hackers out there to create and spread viruses

the anti virus software companies are way tooooo busy trying to destroy the viruses that exist already !! forget creating new ones !!

Some companies do..but not all of them do. The freeware anti virus software works as well as the stuff you buy as long as you're prudent about web sites and links that you use.

Yes Microsoft do that as do all other leading companies.
You can store a virus on your pc in a zipped folder and send to people that you hate.
It won't affect your computer only theres.
I have one on my pc.Safely zipped away for my enemy
