Every modern PC has an audio input on its PC's sound card. This input usually has a symbol that looks something like:

--))> or -->)) (where the arrow is pointing inward)

The input is the size of a mini headphone jack. What you need is a Y-audio cable that has two RCA jacks on one end, and the headphone jack on the other. You can get one for cheap at Radio Shack. Then you can connect your tape deck directly to your PC.

You might have software installed that can record the incoming audio for you, but if not, Windows Sound Recorder will work just fine. Usually, you would save the audio to a 16-bit 44,000 KHz WAV file, which can then be easily burned to CD or converted to MP3 for storage on your PC.
