At university, the people in my group are always lazy and stupid. I usually end up doing everything. Does this happen to you?

And also, even though they never suggest any ideas of their own, they're always ready to criticize your own?

Yes. Something about me must say "pushover" because the minute people find out I'm smart (I'm fairly popular and am not at all nerdy, so people assume I'm an idiot) they try to get me to do things for them! If I like whoever it is, usually I'll do it, but if not and they're using me, I just use a lot of big words and a fake accent to say no and they leave me alone. Ha. It's taken me ages to figure out that technique, but it works!

Yep u r right! Has happened to me a couple of times too. Sometimes I have lucked up on a good group where it works the way its supposed to but for the most part u r correct! Most people are lazy and looking for a free ride. If they see hunger in you and you show initiative they are like yeah let me sit with that person so I can slide by.

yes. I hate working in groups because in addition to the project assigned an additional project is Created....getting all group members to share the work and on a timely basis!

You know what I do? after the initial meeting of the group when different jobs are assigned, I wait and see who does or does not do what. Then I find out who will pick up the slack other then me. If no one does I do.

I only care about my grade and will do what it takes to get the job done. As far as the "slackers" go...to H--- with them.

Absolutely, good point. I can get things done a lot better if I work alone. I deal with my own projects from conception to birth; estimating, designing, purchasing, assemblies and installations. If there were loads of people pitching in I wouldn't have a clue what's what or where anything is.

doesn't really happen to me - but I could be so self absorbed that I don't really notice. I like working in groups. It's not so much about the work that gets done but a good group dynamic is satisfying. Ask to switch groups or soemthing - or next time see if you can't choose your own group.

everytime! but put it this way..

1. when a group is formed be the leader..
2. give each of your friends a work to do..
3. and make sure u say, not to copy paste it from the internet, just try to summerize it.
and at the end make a guy (probably u), to collect from the each of the guy and make the final report

worked for me..

it's never Ez, but it's not to Hard either!!

Your situation is sometimes happening to me.I do hate sometimes working on a group because the members doesn't help you completing the project or what is required.they tend to sort out to you('the leader of the group")to be the one to make the project.

sometimes also the group doesn't honor your ideas or your suggestions maybe because they underestimate your capabilities.

For me, no coz working in groups means cooperate with others with all you can... thats is true..ok if they are lazy or stupid dont be a angry vey fast coz if you are a leader or a member too be a strong guy and dont be stupid too like they doing coz you can be very nice man and good man than them. and if they are no participation so let them go coz that is there own life thats not your own life if they dont like you to be a leader justlet go..

At school I always had the opportunity to choose our partners or group. This is why you need to know your class mates. I would prefer smaller groups, because then it is easier to keep tract on the others. When you know someone has a bad record, you stay away from them.

Yes, I work better when I work single.
But, it is essential in these days, that we work in groups. Be whatever the nature of the group members, we have to adjust to them and get the assignment complete.
