I feel that a person has hit maturity when they can hold down a job and pay their own way in the world. Also being mature means taking responsibility for your own life and owning up to your mistakes. I think that being able to help others is also a sign of maturity.

I realized that I was mature when I started going to my church class out of respect for my teacher and realized that my mother needed help around the house, such as cooking and cleaning. I guess I realized I was a mature person when I realized that I didn't want to be selfish and I now make it my goal to try and help people in need without complaining.

True maturity comes when you realize the fact of your own mortality, as a FACT, not as a clerical error someone will clear up before your time's up.
Once you've internalized the fact that your days on this Earth are numbered, you will be mature.

I think maturity is a lifelong process, I don't know if we ever get there but it's starts coming to us when we begin seeking Gods will instead of our own.
When children start doing what their parents wish them to do out of love they are becoming more mature as they get older if they do what God wants them to do they are gaining maturity.

Maturity is multi-dimensional. Chronologically. we mature sometimes in one dimension, and not as rapid in another. I matured unevenly. I matured rapidly physiologically, musically, verbally and much slower socially. Mathematics came slow, but I finally developed efficient skills in time. I learned to walk, speak, drive, play games, and the piano at early ages.
Speaking in front of groups, understanding calculus, demonstrating leadership, and getting along with others came much slower.

Maturity is a sociological constrant placed on children to give them a goal towards adulthood. With that said it depends on a large amount of factors. Are you self-aware of your feelings, actions, and tendancies? Can you see yourself not living in the comfort of a parents home? Do you have control over emotions that society deems negative?

I think that people always think they are mature, even though it is not always the case. You are really mature when you become really responsible and practical.

maturity: the ability to handle reality and all its ups and downs and maintain a certain amount of perspective and sanity. i've been slowly feeling it creep up on me over the last few years. you know you're there when you start to just feel old.
