It's better to be safe than sorry.
My advice is only give it to those who need it for genuine reasons
e.g.
- For receiving Government Benefits via Electronic Transfer
- So your employer can pay your wages via Electronic transfer
- For transferring money to / from PAYPAL, etc

A friend of mine gave someone their bank account number so that person could wire him some money for a legit business deal. After the transfer,That person then took the account number got my friends bank routing number and had checks made up with my friends account number on them but the guys name and info. He wrote $9,000 worth of checks on my friends account before anyone noticed.
The guy had ordered the checks from one of those order online check places and apparently the place never checked with the bank like they are supposed to before confirning the check order.

So, never give your account number to anyone that you don't know or are unsure about.

Hi,

On the internet everything is unsafe when it comes to giving away personal information.

A person can steal you money by ONLY knowing your peronal info such as name, email, address, country, state... He can pay a private investigator that will research you! The investigator gets paid and it is his job so he knows well how to do it!

It is unsafe to give out any information that will make it easier for someone to access your bank account, credit information or idenity. Crooks are out there. Always be careful and selective on what information you give.

Untrue, if someone has your bank account number they can withdraw funds from your account, Or if they have the technology (easily available) they can print checks and use them.
