You may want to visit a urologist and see if the medications you've been taking have created a blockage. A while back, a friend of mine was having a difficult time getting a full erection and also having a problem maintaining it. It turned out to be a blockage. Taking viagra cleared that up for him, but the urologist had said that if viagra didn't work there were other treatment options (medications) that would correct the problem.

It's nice that your lady understands and I'm sure she'll continue to be patient. In the meantime, if you stress over this, that will probably make matters worse (guys I've known don't usually get much of an erection under pressure!). Just relax and know it's probably a temporary condition that can be fixed with the right medical treatment.

Try a physical therapist, explain the condition and what you are working toward and they can set up a physical therapy regiment to help you achieve your goal. If the drugs are what is effecting you this will pass with time and exercise, keep off the drugs, and if you smoke quit.
