I'm 45 and i think I'm starting to go through it because i have always been regular with my periods but for the last several months they have been real heavy then this month i should have started first part of the month but did not start until last week and it was just awful of course i was scared to death because i can still get pregnant so i was very concerned i seriously did not think i could be but it still worried me but i have been told that it is perimenopause

Yes, I actually read a story about a girl who had a near death experience for having menopause at 19 years old, no lie. Normal age I believe is 48-54, but every woman is different.

Yes, just like some girls mature early, menopause can also start early in some women. But sometimes there is always the possibility that some women can confuse the sign they are experiencing and I suggest it would be best if you are experiencing such systoms to seek medical advise.

I started menopause about 42 or 43 and finished about 3 years later. It runs in my family; my mother stopped menstruating all at once when she was only 37! Check with other women in your family to see if they're also early. I consider myself lucky because my periods were severe, and now I'm free, free at last!

yes, it can actually start in the 20s. It's not likely that you will finish it in the 20s-40s, but symptoms can start that early and last many years.
