My simple advice is don't do it.... only give it to those who need it for genuine reasons
e.g.
- For receiving Government Benefits via Electronic Transfer
- So your employer can pay your wages via Electronic transfer
- For transferring money to / from PAYPAL

"someone" referred to as the (1) credible and reliable customers/suppliers or the (2) Nigeria source ? The new security about e-payment will be at leat 2-throng approach, ie. what you know (userid and password) and what you have (a id-card on your hand), or who you are (finger print, eye-pupil scan). But no one will want to be responsible for your lost, if there is a scam, not even the banks. So my idea is, one can apply for a dummy debit card, use it for e-payment, but deposit only small amount of money in the linked account. Wish you all the lucks.

hello dear, so many times ive been offered to with such letters telling almost the same tales re, the owner of that account died and they wish to transfer to u the money, on the agreement that ul split the cash accordingly.... m 34 yrs old now, ive been taught by businessmen, that there are no free lunches in this world!..if someone offers something to u for free, what they will ask in return later might be something higher in value than what was given to u... so if i wr u..be very careful! its better or even best that we earn decent money, money from our own sweat and blood...this is not to scare u but, y learn the lesson the hard way later....

It's not secure at all. Unless you have SSL set up on your e-mail or whatever means you use to communicate. Most ppl don't have it set up. So if you don't know then you don't have it.

Just call them and give it to them over the phone. That way, only the NSA will have your account number and they own us all anyway so that's not a problem.

common sense says dont do it...but heres what my mother did, she went to the bank and set up an account with the minimum balance ($5 at her bank), then she gave out her info to people claiming to give her money and stuff, she said all they would ever do was keep calling back asking for the info again like they didnt get it right the first time, evidently they didnt want to waste their time with 5 bucks!
