I assume you are speaking of a bison, which is called a buffalo here in the U.S. According to the website below, the bison is the largest land mammal in the U.S. An adult male's average weight is 1800 to 2205 pounds and a female's average weight is 750 to 1200 lbs. However, we had a Limousine bull that weighed about 2000 lbs. and some Angus cows that will weigh close to 1200 lbs., so there really isn't a clear answer to this question. It depends on what particular bison you are comparing to what particular cow. You wouldn't want either species to step on your toe!

Depends on if it is a big or small cow and a big or small buffalo.
If it is a big cow and a small buffalo, I'ld say the cow.
If its a big buffalo and a small cow, I'ld say the buffalo.
ps- have you ever considered buffalo wings are rather small compared to the size of an average buffalo?

Depends, bison are large animals, but to say that they are much heavier than cattle can be misleading. Certain breeds of cattle, particularly draft cattle can grow to weights of over a ton. Also I've read of instances where oxen (castrated bulls) can grow to about 3000 pounds. In general I would say that a buffalo is heavier but it's not always the case.

I've seen both in person and a buffalo looks a lot bigger so it probably weighs more.

Petunia!! Have you NEVER looked at a moo-cow on T.V and then saw a Buffalo if only on T.V? Even if it is on a 6in T.V screen! A Buffalo is MUCHhhh bigger than a cow!! DUH!! buy about 250-300 lb more for the big bulls....... DUH!! There is a large heard only 15 mi form where I live. AND them are some BIGGGGG Ani-mules!!!!

I would assume a Buffalo. They have more muscle mass, and everyone knows muscle weighs more than fat.
