Why are so many people on Y!A keen on cynical intricacy?

Most of the cynical intricacy I've seen so far seems more like people showing off, being clever, and basically enjoying Y/A. It seems harmless enough, no? But then, when you ask a real question, you get the wry answers ...
Can't help too much there. Philosohpy, though, doesn't have to be oversubtle, even if it is abstract.

Well, I had to choose between that and cruel sarcasm and the former won out. It was a close race and a fine line... but you know how it goes.
I like to think it's an expression of my evil alter ego. In real life, I'm all sunshine.
