I thought a Troop is "A group of soldiers"... Your News Headline stated " Hezbollah fighters kill 9 Israeli troops"...
Isn't this statement incorrect?

A troop is the same as a company. It's anywhere between 60 to 190 soldiers. Or about 4 platoons.

When talking about size troop refers to a number of soldiers, about a company, but in this case it is being used as a plural noun.
