Sitting for long hours causes ones feet to swell.
If ones shoes are the least bit tight, the discomfort is enhanced by sitting for a time.

As for the marks on ones feet from this, a small blood clot has formed. It will disappear with time.

If one removes ones shoes while sitting for a time, especially tight ones, one may find it difficult to put them back on, as a result of the swelling.
