Do you Americans have a sense of humour at all? I am blowed if I can find any evidence of such anywhere, except perhaps sick humour when your extracting the urine from someone less fortunate than yourselfs?

I was in Germany for 4 years in the US army and i have to say first i loved sky 1 it was the only non AFN channel i had and i love British humor but it also had alot of American shows on it and too be honest i think the difference sense i have returned home is the British wit but American humor is more slap stick so in reality it takes a smarter person to get British humor but you got to remember most of America isn't too smart but to say we have no sense of humor is a little overboard just a different type

If they have they do a bloody marvellous impersonation of someone without. But any country that gives us South Park, The Simpsons, Family Guy, Dave Chappelle, Malcolm in the Middle and The Fall Guy can't all be bad. Plus I think Chuck Norris facts was written by a yank. In short yes they have but they don't have the brains to turn on their pc and tell us a joke.

Well I certainly don't! As a matter of fact, I spend all my free time reading the bible and doing cross-stitch. I think Jon Stewart should be thrown in prison.
If anything that even smacks of humor crosses my path, I write my senator and ask him to support a bill banning it. I prefer a humorless society. That's why I moved to Ohio. I would have moved to Indiana, but I ran out of gas.
You Brits are far too funny for me. That's why I can't tolerate Tony Blair or Prince Charles. Quite beyond my reach. Nope. Must be silent, sober & sensible.

Americans do have a sense of humour; just look at their Government.
Theirs is different; it doesn't involve the sarcastic, ironic or witty comments we associate with humour or intelligence, so often their humour isn't seen as very funny or intelligent here. But at least we do get theirs, albeit not as funny as our native comedies, whereas the opposite is not always true.

A tad unfair, American sit-coms don't count as humour. Face to face they don't use wit or dry humour, they just reproduce catchphrases as repartee.
But if you get to know them they can be quite funny, and their stand-up guys are very funny (except Seinfeld).

Hey, hey, hey. Where's the love, baby? We have a sense of humour, it's just not dry and unfunny (like humour in the UK).

Dumb and Dumber, Frasier, South Park, Seinfeld, Simpsons, Something about Mary ..... I could go on, I'm British, but I just don't find Monty Python funny, I know the Yanks do though, I don't think us Brits are as funny as we think we are!
