glass is so common nowadays that products like glass shoes, bottles is an everyday affair, (even my wife has glass shoes which r stronger than the ones in stories, I know, ive got a knock with it once), making glass was not known in cindrellas days, it was more leather & clay in those times, hence the fable of her wearing glass shoes & fairies etc

Actually the slippers in the original story were fur slippers. The story was written in french and the word for fur and glass in french are spelled the same way. But when spoken they are phonetically different. So when translated to English it came out glass slipper and the french liked it and adopted into the original story.

well, in fact it's a misundertanding, Ciderella never wore glass shoes.

At the beginning, she was wearing "vair" shoes. Vair is a kind of fur.

In French, "vair" (fur) and "verre" (glass) got the same pronunciation.
So the "vair" shoes became "verre" shoes, glass shoes....

well they aren't exactly like Cinderella's because they aren't made of glass. They are see-through and have rhinestones draped across them. I wore them on my wedding day.
