Yes, as it is based on Computers, wires, routers, and other machinery. The design is such that much of the hardware is redundant, and data may be replicated. This gives an illusion that the Internet is separate from the hardware, but it is not. Thus the Internet has a physical prescence.
Consider this thought experiment: If all the computers disappeared, where would the Internet go. or would it still exist?

yeah it do. It's physical existence lies on the wires, modems, routers, sattellites, fiber optics, and air (for wireless Internet Connection) which is spread throughout the world.
You need to understand first what Internet is, Internet's original concept comes from LAN, in LAN, a small group of computer is linked together, and Internet is simply just a really expanded LAN. Internet is really just an array of computers linked together into a very large network.
Internet originally refers to the concept of sending data from a computer to another computer via (at that time) telephone modem line. Nowadays, Internet is often used to refer World Wide Web (www), which is sending data through Internet and displays the data on a program (browsers).
Internet's existence lies on the wires (and modems, etc) that connect the world's computer, while the www lies on the computers, especially server computers.

in the servers all around the world the data stored is the state of chips. These are the physical existence although the data is only a state which can be altered - and is being altered continiously.

The internet's data is physically contained in thousands of servers, that allow you to access their data from your computer over your network connection.
