Tissue match is also known as HLA typing. Each persons tissue has specific receptors on the surface of their cells. Their are alpha and beta combinations that make up numerous receptor types. Yout wan to match the donated organ as well as possible to recipient to avoid rejection which is an attack by the host immune system on the receptors on the donors cells. You don't need 100% match, but it should be pretty high. Your doc can give info on the exact precentage as it varies between centers. Blood type isn't nearly as important, but a match is desireable.
