I'm 14 and I get £5 a week for my own things but my parents wanted me to learn the value of money so i get £50 a month for my clothes and if that runs out tough. Its helped me to learn how to not become broke!

My 3 kids DO NOT get an allowance! Daughter is 14, Sons are 11 & 7 yrs. If they do things around the house and don't fight THEN they get some money! All depends on how much we have left at the end of the week/month!

Both my husband and I were earning our own money by 14 years old. I plan on my kids being off allowance between 13 and 15 years old.

I'm 14 and I work for my money(I mean work as in working outside of the house). I don't gain allowance. I probably gain around 50-60 dollas per week.

Make them work for it, lawnmowing, washing cars, all the chores, £10 p/w is enough. I used to get £1 per week and had to work for that!!

My parents used to give me £20 a month and that was only if i did my chores, i.e did the washing up and kept my bedroom tidy.
