You need to refine your question. For example, an argument can be made that we start the process of dying the day that we're born.

The top of our athletic prowess may come between 16 and 30.

The top of our intellectual prowess may come between 25 and 50.

The top of our acquisition of wisdom may come after age 60.

Our achievement of "self realization" may never happen, or it could occur at 25.

Personnally, I know people in their 80's who are physically and mentally better off than other people in their 20's. However, I imagine that you are interested in an average, and this example would not reflect that. So, all things being equal, my guess is that, given multiple criteria, the peak of a person's life, on average, is somewhere between the early 30's and early 50's.

Actually I think 50 is the new top of the hill and then as soon as you hit 51 it's all down hill from there.

50 i think, because everyone is saying now that 40 is the new 30 (inspired by movie/TV stars of course). and there is no way that 50 could be the new 40, so you have to go with 50.
