I think it should be possilble.
May be we are already doing so at this moment.
It is just that it seems so real that we feel all the things.

However, we can imagine that we can save all the memories of a father in his brain (grey matter) and trasform it into a chip.

Then when the father dies - with some kind of operation - transform all the memories to his son - who will have all his memories and also his father's. This way the son will carry on not only the genes but also all the experience accumulated and this could go on for centuries creatiing some very wise people around the world.

Yes one can exist without body only as a mind. After physical death the soul lives in to the other realm. And until and unless the soul attains nirvana or gets another birth as some other physical body it retains it's nature of it's previous birth[ that's why you'll find some ghost who are very nasty and some very helpful].you can also call this soul as the mind without a physical body.

No. The mind is a function of the brain, and the brain is a part of the body. The spirit is simply the will of the body.

so what happened to the soul?

Your question; only if one folds within one self so it is all within the mind

The body is robotic in another words, the mind is elsewhere, non existant to the soul of the body

our mind is the protector of the other two (body and soul) as each are for each other and each will jump in to save the other in times of need.

How do you know that your body is not just an extension of your mind. And you might be thinking brain, they have found that the mind is something separate from the brain that makes us who we are. Freaky isn't it?
